SEASON 21 DUROCHER FINALISTS

Voting is on the left atop the sidebar. Thanks-Mad

Ehull11-Ehull has his Coat Factories atop the A L East and the best record in Wrigleyville. His teams have always been very good even if he didn't win the division until now. Here is what one owner had to say while nominating Ehull. Ehull is the front runner,no doubt.Voting for ehull11. Look at the record he put together this season. WOW! .723 winning percentage as of this post. Sheesh!

Dodgersgale- Dodger won 101 games and the A L North. It's a nice rebound from a 78 win season 20. Thats a 23 game improvement and them trades are paying off. One owner said this of Dodger. Hey, I'll nominate dodgersgale for this year's award. He's done a great job of building his team & really getting them moving in the right direction. I think they'll be a player in the AL for a long time.

Aaronwayne- Aaronwayne's Prairie Dogs have been a force for the past 9 years. Consistancy should be rewarded and could be why Aaron garnered several nominations. Here is one nomination comment. My nomination for the Durocher this year is aaronwayne and his mighty Prairie Dog squad. He has a proven track record of sustained excellence, but this year has been a particular challenge in the East as the resurgent Bruins have emerged as a true powerhouse with a tremendous stockpile of talent amassed through tanking by previous management. Aaron’s risen to that challenge, making the necessary adjustments and roster moves to not only secure a WC spot, but to put himself within spitting distance of the division title going on a 30-8 run (as of this writing) right down the stretch when it matters most.

Mdymond- Mdymond is back atop the vaunted A L West after finishing 3rd for the past 4 years. The Salmonbellies finished with the second best record in Wrigleyville and should be considered a front runner. Here is what one nominating owner said. Mdymond is my nominee for owner of the year because he's been holding me off for the AL West lead all season! His power hitters are ridiculous, too

THE WEEK IN WRIGLEYVILLE S-21 #7

TRADES
The CINCINATTI RED LIGHT DISTRICTS traded Lance Bailey to the WASHINGTON D C WINGDINGS for Howard Allen and 400,000
Cincy added a former FOY to their bullpen and some cap money. Allen will be seeking a big contract in his final Arb year. The Wingdings get a nice pitching prospect for the rebuild.

The DURHAM BULLSHIPPERS traded Jamie Yang to the FARGO PRAIRIE DOGS for Gerry Abbott and Richard Beckham
Fargo picked up last years Futures game MVP.Not only can Yang hit but he's also a very good defensive LF'er.The Bullshippers get a good catching prospect and pitching prospect. Both have good potential.

The DURHAM BULLSHIPPERS traded Ruben Reyes and 2,000,000 to the JACKSON BLACK BEARS for Jose Lugo
Jackson gets a solid RF'er with his salary paid and an extra 1.1 million in cap money. The Black Bears spent 45 million on IFA's and Draft picks ,so they could use a little extra money. Durham picks up a good pitching prospect.

M L INJURIES
Del Cordero
Last week I warned the Coat Factories that Del "Monte" Cordero would get his can kicked once or twice a year. I didn't think the twice would happen a day after he came off the DL. Now he will miss the rest of the year with elbow tendinitis. Time to put this guy into the Bargain bin. Anyone want to buy a Dented Can??? Anyone??

Alex Black
Alex "Back in" Black is a local boy from B.C.. So I followed his career closely and he has done real well for Hoopcoach's team. But now he's out the rest of the year with a torn knee. Hoopcoach needs to trade him to my Vancouver squad. Alex wants to be "back in" good ole Canada!

Raul Castro
Hoopcoach had another player go down but Raul "Full Body" Castro is only going to miss 2 weeks. This young rookie is having a solid start to his career. And I will wait until his "Full Body" of work is in before commenting further.

Don Lim
Last year the Howlers took a chance on Don "out on a" Lim. He is back on the DL for the third time after signing his new contract. Maybe time to trim the Lim.

Sammy Galvez
A devastating injury to the Black Sox. Sammy "Jammy" Galvez will be out for 236 days with a herniated disk. With 2 years at 5.7 per, Jammy will gum up Chicago's Future Financial Flexability.

Melky Barrios
This is Melky "Maid" Barros's first stint on the M L, DL. And that is suprising seeing how his health rating is in the 30's.Now that his Maiden is broken ,could we see him on the DL more often? Time will tell.

Grant LaRocca
Grant "nightclub" LaRocca signed a new 3 year 4.8 million per year contract this off-season. Now this Charlotte Hurler is out the rest of the year with shoulder surgery. Sometimes you roll snake-eyes.Craps!!

Dick Badenhop
Dick "Took a" Badenhop will miss a couple weeks with a sore hammy. The Muskies relize that the baseball gods Giveth and Tooketh away.Sometimes more than the other?

Omar Hartman
Omar "Mary" Hartman will miss the rest of the season with shoulder tendinitis. Wylie is drowning himself in a pot of Chicken Soup.

David Villalona
The hits just keep coming for the City Limits. David "Bob" Villalona will miss 2 weeks with a sore shoulder. This rookie is looking for some Improvement!

Felix Wang
Felix Wang "Dang Sweet Kickapoo Puntang" is stoked that he's rockin in the majors. If the Kickapoos weren't in a semi-rebuild Felix would be head banging in the minors.

Bob Neugebauer
Bob "Nugie" Neugebauer is out for 2 weeks with a broken toe. Rumor has it that he injured it doing his new dance called the Nugie Boogie. You can catch it at a Howler game near you.

THE WEEK IN WRIGLEYVILLE S-21 #6

TRADES
The WASHINGTON D C WINGDINGS traded Mariano Rivera and 1,300,000 to the BURLINGTON COAT FACTORIES for Flip Clark
AS if Burlington needed more help. They picked up a very nice Closer/Setup guy for the stretch run. Washington continued it's fire sale and got a nice Closing Prospect.

The SYRACUSE MOOSE traded Miguel Megias to the DURHAM BULLSHIPPERS for D.J. White
Just a minor league needs trade here.

The NEW BRITAIN BRUINS traded Bob Daley and Willie Burgess to the VANCOUVER TOTEMS for Asdrubal Morales and Al Zerbe
I shipped Zerbe and Morales to the Bruins for some more offense. Zerbe was going into free agency next year anyways and Morales was a BIG disapointment. The Bruins got a Long Starter to fill in for the 2 injured starting pichers. Hope it works for both of us.

The COLORADO SPRINGS BANDITS traded Frank Vanguri and 1,500,000 to the WASHINGTON D C WINGDINGS for Rudy West
Washington gets a 3rdbaseman with his salary paid. The Bandits get a bullpen guy looking to get back into the Majors.

The LOUISVILLE HOWLERS traded Fausto Castro and 800,000 to the TRENTON TOYOTAS for Lyle Ruffin
Trenton Gets a oldtimer that was recently demoted to AAA. Ruffin goes back to Louisville after being claimed off the waver wire by Trenton.

The AUSTIN CITY LIMITS traded Arthur Blackburn to the FARGO PRAIRIE DOGS for Collin Davis
Fargo is in the hunt for a playoff berth and added some starting pitching depth for the stretch run. Austin get a nice juicy prospect.

M L INJURIES
Hersh Paul
Hersh "Ron" Paul was injured while telling the people of San Juan how to live thier lives. My guess he stuck his nose in where it didn't belong.Smoke sum gahnja mon,it'l be alright Mon.

Stan Knight
Stan "wee" Knight is just 5 foot 6 but still can use the big boy urinals. It's about trajectory after all. The wee lad will miss 3 weeks with a bum shoulder.

Louis White
Louis "eggshell'" White is back on the DL for another month. That Juarez prostitute musta really messed him up?

Del Cordero
Del "Monte" Cordero has been "slurving" up Cans of Corn to his outfielders all year long. But with his low health numbers he will get his can kicked once or twice a year.

Esteban Campos
Esteban "Boy Scout" Campos isn't gay, but he is very happy. He's ready to come out of the DL closet after straining his rotator cuff. He would like to take the Ban outa Estaban and be called Este from now on.

Raul Tavarez
Raul "roadside" Tavarez will miss 2 months with a sore shoulder. Stop in if your passing by and drink 1 or 2 with Roadside. He's in no hurry.

Ryan Vaughn
Are you kidding me? Ryan "On Golden" Vaughn is on the DL again. A sore tummy will keep him out another two weeks. Goldbricker!!

Derrick Sanders
Derrick "Hand" Sanders has a great Glove for centerfield. But he stepped in a hole while shagging a fly. The ankle sprain will keep him out 2 weeks. It's hazerdous playing for the Prairie Dogs.

THE WEEK IN WRIGLEYVILLE S-21 #5

TRADES
The ARIZONA COBRAS traded Frankie Masterson , Keith Halter and Terry Worrell to the MEMPHIS BLUES for Tommy Peterman and 3,000,000
Arizona picked up a Pitching Horse good for 230+ innings a year. Memphis went thru the Cobras Cupboards and grabbed 3 nice prospect. Good for both squads.Starting Pitchin ain't cheap!

The CHICAGO BLEACHER BUMS traded Jake Alston and 2,300,000 to the PITTSBURGH PIRATES for Alving Franco
The Pirates get a starting pitcher that won't cost them any money. The Bleacher Bums get a player who could be a solid shortstop if his health holds out.

The HELENA BARKING MOONBATS traded Jumbo MacFarlane , Larry Walker and 1,000,000 to the PITTSBURGH PIRATES for Todd Flores and Cesar Melendez
The Barking Moonbats get younger with the addition of a young slugger, who could be up for ROY and should be a fantastic M L hitter. He also picked up a  young pitcher who can be a 20 game winner with the right team.Pittsburgh gets another starting pitcher with several years left on his contract and a hitter who can't hit right hand pitching. I think I would have kept Flores but my team sucks ...so what do I know??

M L INJURIES

J.B. Battle
Missed 2 weeks with a sore shoulder.

Rodrigo Merced
The last time we saw Rodrigo Merced on the DL,  I nicknamed him "I got Mine" . Because he just signed a big contract and went down in the first week. But since that day he has been pretty reliable, until now. He will miss 2 months this year and next year he will be 39. Time to take a knee and retire ?? Now I will call him Rodrigo "Mortis" Merced.

Ren Chang
Just a little stumble for Ren "and Stimpy" Chang . He is already back to playing after a irritated Rubber Nipple incident. Hang Em!!

Timothy Person
Timothy doesn't like it when Timothy "First" Person goes on the DL. But Timothy Knows that Timothy is ready to come back after a strained Quad. Timothy Likes!

Ryan Vaughn
This is the first trip to the DL for Ryan "on Golden" Vaughn. He will be a top free agent next year and may get the Golden 20-120 contract. A Golden Parachute??

Koji Martin
Koji Martin was well on his way to reaching his projection. Now when he turns 27 next year he will still be good but what might have been?? He will miss 2 months with a sore rotator cuff.

Diego Arredondo
When I last wrote about Diego "DA" Arredondo on the DL in season 18. I called him the Prosecuter. He will miss 4 months with a Labrum tear and Goldenbaer has been Persecuted. The DA is DOA!!

Miguel Blanco
Talk about Persecution! Dodgersgale just had his second stud SP go down . This time it's Miguel "Blanked" Blanco and he will miss 2 months with a strained elbow. That Blanken,Blankety,Blank Blank Sucks!!
