THE WEEK IN WRIGLEYVILLE S-23 #3

TRADES

The LOUISVILLE REDTAILS traded Byron Weathers and 2,000,000 to the SANTA FE BLUES for Chun-Lim Yang
Weathers was a bust in Louisville so he was shipped to Santa Fe to help out the Blues offense. The former ROY will help put some crooked numbers on the scoreboard. Yang was expendable after many the free agents pitchers were signed in the off-season. He should eat some innings in Louisville and maybe the change will boost his career numbers. This trade helped the needs of both teams.

The SAN FRANCISCO KICKAPOOS traded Wesley Goodwin and 500,000 to the JACKSON BLACK BEARS for Dave Moore
Jackson picks up a one of the best all-around 3rd basemen in Wrigleyville. He should be a veteran influence for a young, up and coming, Black Bear team. Moore was Jacksons 1st round pick in season 21 and the Kickapoos continue to add great prospects for the future. This trade makes sense for both teams. One re-building and another building a playoff juggernaught.

M L INJURIES

Dick Badenhop
Dick "Took A" Badenhop is a classic Misfit in name and  DL tradition. He just signed a new 4 year 20 million dollar contract and will miss 2 weeks with a strained Hammy. Thats gonna leave a Badenhop mark.

Danny Barker
Danny "No Bite"  Barker will miss 2 months with a sore shoulder. The WingDings are still waiting for this kid to stop barking and bite someone. Goldenbaer says "Bite Me Barker"

Jim Speaker
Shoulder tendinitis will keep Jim "Low" Speaker out for 2 weeks. When I asked him how he felt pitching for the Crabbers he replied " Mfmph harunpf" . Speak up Speaker!

Ivan Troncoso
Ivan "Costco" Troncoso sprained his MCL and will miss 2 weeks. Costco Troncoso has played the Bulk of his time at SS and  has been solid. He's a Bargain at 6 million when healthy.

Kendry Bocachica
Kendry Bocachica is a nice DH and now he's out 2 weeks with a strained tummy. The Prairie Dogs will make do until he returns.

William Tabaka
William "Smokeless" Tabaka is back to DL Darling ways.He may miss the rest of the season with nerve irritation. This will get Nwsheehy smoking hot, he still owes Tabaka another 5 mill next season.

Eric Howell
Eric "sorrowful" Howell will miss the rest of the year with a torn hammy. His only value was his defensive skills and they took a big hit. Eric will be crying in the minor leagues..... IF .....he comes back.Theres no crying in Baseball!!

Yannick Earley
Yannick "Panic" Earley is also back to his DL Darling ways. He will miss the rest of the year with a torn hammy. Look for panic sale on Earley's future in Cincy.

Diego Acosta
Diego "Pacific" Acosta will miss 3 weeks with a strained hammy. The Bandits will want to get this 4 tool player back on the field as soon as possible. Next year is the last year of arb and he could be a risky long-term signing? Diego and ressda may be Oceans apart on his asking price.

Rob McNamara
Rob "In the Hood" McNamara hurt my chances for a good season. He was my best long reliever and will be missed for 2 months with elbow tendinitis. I may have to rob my minors to help my poor pitching staff.

THE WEEK IN WRIGLEYVILLE S-23 #2

TRADES

The SALT LAKE CITY UTES traded Cookie Bennett to the JACKSON BLACK BEARS for Hayes Reimold
The Utes pick up a good hitting LF'er and stick him in RF. The Black Bears get a Gold Glove SS with a .250 BA. This is a hitting for defense trade. Hope it works out for both teams.

The JACKSON BLACK BEARS traded Cristian Satou and Jamie Miyakazi and 5,000,000 to the LITTLE ROCK MOONSHINERS for Marc Dean
The Moonshiners get a multiple Gold Glove CF'er with a .254 BA and most of this years salary paid. The Moonshiners also pick up a young RF'er that will get a chance to play everyday. Jackson gets a nice pitching prospect that was the 13th overall pick last year. Olemiss is not superstitious and Dmann helps out his pitching with some improved outfield play.

The SYRACUSE MOOSE traded Emmanuel Edwards to the HELENA BARKING MOONBATS for Andres Borbon and Alex Borges
The Moonbats bag season 21's first overall draft pick. He looks to be a solid SS who can hit with power. The only tool not in his belt is speed. The Moose get one of the best young pitchers in the league who had shoulder problems 2 years back. The Moose also got a defensive guy who can hit an occasional homer.Pitching aint cheap and the Moose paid dearly for a really good young pitcher. But it's a good trade for both teams if the players play up to their projections.

The SAN FRANCISCO KICKAPOOS traded Jung Kim to the AUSTIN CITY LIMITS for Benji Machado
I really wanted Kim but I didn't have the bluechip player that Austin offered. Austin gets a one of the best pitchers in this league not to win a Cy-Young. If he bolts to free agency next year he could command 10-20 million a year. The Kickapoos get last years overall #4 player drafted. He will be a top gun pitcher if he stays off the DL. This is a good trade for both teams "if" it gets Austin to the Series and the Kickapoos get this pitching prospect to the majors intact.

The CHICAGO BLACK SOX traded Philip Darwin to the LITTLE ROCK MOONSHINERS for Jimmie Sosa
The Moonshiners get a hitting prospect who could be a 1st baseman with good range. The Black Sox picked up a pitcher who got paid 500,000 per loss last year. Little Rock dumped a bad contract and the Black Sox didn't give up much.

M L INJURIES

Bob Neugebauer
Bob "Nuegie" Neugebauer is still doing the Nuegie Boogie during the 7 inning stretch at all Redtail games. Nuegie is already back on the field  Boogie-ing after his Quad healed.

Roger Serrano
The Tabaky Farmers will be without their Silver Slugger for a month. Roger "Rabbit" Serrano is not known for his speed and leaping ability. He is known for his big ears and fuzzy tail.

Pat Clark
The Bandits signed Pat "Down" Clark as a shut down closer. He will miss 2 weeks with a swollen elbow. Pat Down also moonlights as a TSA inspector........Intrusive indeed!

Ossie Hyers
Ossie "For" Hyers has been a highly paid and effective slugger for Sante fe. But age may have caught up to his 12 million dollar salary . He will be out 3 months with a herniated disk.

Jake Alston
Jake "Cob" Alston will be out 2 weeks with a swollen elbow. He will be kicking back at his Farm in Iowa shucking corn.

Billy Brock
Billy "Punk" Brock loves the mosh pit and that may have contributed to his MCL strain. He will miss 30 days and may be looking for another team next year.

Mickey Harville
Mickey "The Monkey" Harville is still flinging monkey poo at Ressda. It will be 2 weeks before he can get back on the field. This guy will drive the Bandit fans Bananas!

Antone Teagarden
I'm gonna miss Antone "Green" Teagardens defense in RF for 3 weeks. Antone has been asking for more green backs in his contract negotiations. This won't help his case!

THE WEEK IN WRIGLEYVILLE S-23 #1

TRADES

The ARIZONA COBRAS traded Vic Pineda and Rubby Durazo to the PITTSBURGH PIRATES for Jumbo MacFarlane and 4,500,000
Arizona rents Jumbo for the year . He cost 2 defensive players that will help the already stout Pirate defense. Jumbo has underwhelmed in his career and perhaps Arizona is the place he can finally play like his ratings ( 81/79 split-99 sinker). Pittsburgh adds to a already stout defense (Durazo). And when Pineda gets called up, he should help this years average offense.

The MADISON MUSKELLUNGES traded Bing Cepeda and Ramiro Pena to the NEW BRITAIN BRUINS for Walter Parker and 2,500,000
Madison has one of the top offensive teams so far. They added a really nice pitcher to the rotation (Parker). If  he stays healthy he may help Madison to the Series. New Britain picks up a BInG Time bat in Cepeda, and hitting is the Bruins mantra. Dodger wants to score 1000 runs this year And Cepeda will help in that goal.  Pena will not help out the average pitching.

M L INJURIES

Mark Brock
Mark "Sinking like a"  Brock may be doing the Sometimes a favor by going on thr DL. He has not played up to his 5 million a year so far. Even though the Elbow Strain will only sideline him for a month, Hatton decided to put him on the 60 DL. Looks like Hatton is losing his patience with Brock.

Junior Maeda
Junior "Lemon" Maeda just signed a 2 year-8.6 million contract with the Knights.   He will miss the rest of the year with Elbow Surgery. Sorry ......Avantreal there is no Lemon Law and your stuck with him. Perhaps next year you can make Lemonade?

Vasco Morales
Vasco "De Gumma" Morales has gummed up Cheyennes plans.Sonneboy re-signed him in the off-season for 3.3 million and now he will miss several months with Elbow Tendinitis. Kind of a sticky situation.

Christian Shin
Christian "Kicked in the " Shin will be out 2 weeks with a pulled hammy. Kicked in the Shin will be Kicking back on the Kickapoos dime.
