Swishnev's take: With the 11th pick in the 1st round the Arizona Cobras selected Randy Rogers a left-handed reliever out of Merced High School in Merced,California. Rogers projects to be a very good reliever in the future as he has good control for a schoolboy pitcher with the ability to throw three pitches for strikes while keeping the ball on the ground.As he matures the Cobras hope that he'll have the ability to strike out hitters consistently,as well. Rogers started his professional career at the High-A level and outside of two rough outings he's pitched well in striking out 8 in 8.1 ip and going 4-6 in save opportunities. He's projected to make the ML roster in Season 18.

Pbsilvers take: Picking 13th and not having another pick till the 3rd round, I did not have high hopes for this draft. Especially after looking at what looked like a very weak draft pool!I went aggressive, hoping I could pick up a player others passed on. I was rewarded this time with Jacob Clayton who actually signed after a very brief period without holding me up for more money!
