I like this pick at #17. This kid may prove to be the steal of the draft . he has two very good pitches with decent splits. His durability is his only drawback.

This cat has power with contact . Add speed and he may become a All-Star 1st baseman. He is already 21 and could be in the Bigs soon.

This guy will make a great Set-up pitcher. With his good durability he could pitch 50-70 innings a year, easy.

This young SS probably will play at 3rd base or RF. He will hit about .270- .290 most years . His health is a great concern.
Ardthomps Take: The Indians landed Kevin Sheffield with the 21st pick in the draft. He projects to be solid defensive player, but he won't end up as a SS. His batting ratings indicate that he will be able to be a solid player, but nothing that would lead me to believe he will be a superstar. All-in-all, Sheffield will do a lot of things good, but nothing great.

Here is a strong arm 3rd baseman who can hit with power. He will have a hard time reaching his projections in 3 years. So we may see him in the bigs at age 25.

This kid has the best fastball in the draft. Add his very good curveball and he will keep hitters off balance. His stamina and durability will make him a #3 or #4 starting pitcher.

This kid has average defensive skills and good hitting splits. He may be hitting out of the #7 or #8 hole. Probably will be packaged in a trade for a big time player.

SIGNING BONUS:1,750,000
This little pitcher may be small but he pitches like a big dog. With 4 pitches at 60 or higher he will keep hitters guessing.
Mdymonds take: projected to be a very good #2 or #3 in the rotation pitcher. 4 good pitches but no great pitches. A little weak against righties.

Tony "Morning" Wood will want to pitch in the rotation but his lack of stamina may put him in the Pen.With great control and splits he will make the Bigs.

When this kid faces a RH line-up he will be an ace. But against lefties he will struggle. He has 4 pitches above 70 , so he will be no slouch.

How did Wally fall so far. Either my scouts sucked or others overlooked this solid pitching prospect. I had him rated #5 in my draft. Because of his great Control and 2 pitches in the 80's.
Mdymonds take: very good control pitcher with 2 80+ pitches.

This guy will murder LH pitchers . He will play 1st base or DH. At age 22 it will be difficult but not impossible for him to make his projections.

I saw this guy but didn't rate him high even tho he has killer numbers. It was due to his poor Stamina. He could be a Closer but will only pitch in 30 games. He will be lights out in them 30.
