The Week in WRIGLEYVILLE, S-11, #1

TRADES

The TACOMA TOYOTAS traded Everth Fernandez to the FARGO PRAIRIE DOGS for Albert Runyan
Looks like Sandberg lost one of his Starting Pitchers to Fargo on the Waiver Wire. Aaron was happy to trade him back for a AAA LF'er. Should have held out for more Aaron.LOL

The PORTLAND PANDEMONIUM traded Geronimo Cruz and Dale Barker to the FARGO PRAIRIE DOGS for Vicente Rodriguez
Portland ships 2 nice Prospects to Fargo for a good M L Shortstop. Fargo is stocking up and Portland gets some defensive help.

M L INJURIES

Rob Smith
This Chimp Catcher is already back behind the plate. He had back spasms

Ernie Jenkins
Now I know why Sand hit the Bottle. He just lost his Star Cf'er for two months. He took a big hit in his arm strength. He may have to play 2nd base.

David Satou
This San Juan Bench player will be back in a week after Pulling a Hammy.Push David,Don't Pull!!

Craig Savage
A Back Strain will keep this Aztec player out another week. Savage must have hurt it during the weekly Virgin Sacrifice. Where did they find a Virgin in Chicago???

Esteban Nieves
This Tripod Pitcher is ready to return to the Bullpen. Perhaps this longtime Starting Pitcher is pissed now that he is no longer starting. Hello Zambrano!!!

Charles Yamamoto
This Boston All-Star RF'er will miss his another week , Poor baby Strained hi Finger!

Willie Sampson
Another Chimp misses a Week. Someone needs to pick up them Banana Peels.

Rick Reagan
This Boston player will miss 2 weeks due to a strained Hammy. He hails from the 4th largest city in Idaho. It's called Firth ,Idaho.

Seattle signed this nice prospect fo 3.2 million. He has great range but his glove is suspect. If he wasn't a Lefty you could play him at 2nd base. But he could be a GG --RF/LF.

The first Big time IFA was snagged by Fargo. Aaron outbid me and others for this Tasty Pitcher. This Kid has Stamina,Control,Splits,Velocity and health in the upper 80's and 90's. If you had to nitpick you would pick on his 4 pitches in the 50's and 60's. But hey I was willing to take a chance with 17 million. not enough he cost 20 million and a major league contract.

IN: Joseph Maeda Claimed (Kickapoos)

SUMMARY: The Santurce Crabbers slugged it out with the moose last season and settled for a wild card berth. Ralphs bunch are a tough little crustaceans who don't make the big bucks. But they play like King Crabs. So in keeping with Ralphs Philosophy of keeping salaries low and winning.Ralph Waived two players which freed up 7 million in cap space. He then traded two killer players to the Turkeys for a Killer Shortstop in Ryan Vaughn .Who should make his M L Debut soon. Finally he surfed the Wire and picked up a Kickapoo castoff.

PREDICTION: 96-66 (1st in the Division)

He then picked up a nice CF'er in the R-5 draft and trimmed his roster with some Memphis players that he picked up in a trade. Now that he has added some good players to his lineup alls bkevin can do is sit back and Pray.

PREDICTION: 81-81 (3rd in the division)

IN: Archie Romero F/A (Silverhawks), Mo Swann F/A (Silverhawks), Macbeth Lofton F/A (Silverhawks), Jacob Kwon R-5, Rick Cashman R-5

SUMMARY: The Sturgeons were floating belly up in season 9. So last season Pat decided to clean house and restocked his team hoping they would swim up stream. Last year they did improve but still have a long way to swim to make the playoffs. Pat007 doesn't believe in scouting draft or internationals. He has 4 first round picks with no scouting. His mantra is" I'll  draft unknowns and buy the known". He let 8 players go by either Free agency or by releasing them. He then targeted St Louis free agents.Spending 16 million for them. To save some cash Pat filled the gaps with a couple of R-5 players .

PREDICTION: 81-81 (2nd in the Division)

LAST SEASON RECORD: 71-91 (3rd Div)

IN: Mark Liniak F/A (Charleston), Tommie Parrish F/A (San Diego), Jung Li F/A (Hartford), John Abe F/A (Hartford), Dennis Damon R-5

SUMMARY: After winning the division 4 straight years the Tacomas had a Fire sale and began rebuilding. So its not suprising that they finished under 500 last season. Sandberg Contiued his ways in the offseason by releasing Valdez and Runyan. Then brought in a quartet of free agents and a R-5 pickup. Most of his moves were made late last season when he traded for several prospects and as soon as they hit the bigs look for this team to contend.

SUMMARY: As I predicted last season the Supersonics were not going to wow us. They were rebuilding with all them 1st round picks. This season he lowered his cap from 95 million to 80 million. Kevin put more money into scouting and training and medical. he then went out a spent more Money on coaching. He let a couple of ageing players go . Kevin then went and spent 8 million on a trio of free agents and claimed an old SS on the wire. Finally he picked up a couple of R-5's to trim out his roster.

Jmas then had money to Arb some players and bring in a couple of Free agents. He then Promoted a veteren Slugger and filled out his roster with trades.

He first let some old geriatric players go to free agency. Lags traded a couple of players and in return he brought back Jimmie"Top" Gonzalez to solidify the Rotation. He then went to the Market and bought several veteran players for about 10 Million. And finally he traded for a DH in the twilight of his career.

Bad News: His players got a year older and want to get paid. So Mark Increased his cap to 105 Million and let A trio of players go to Free agency because of outragous salary demands. He then traded 12 million in salaries by trading Daly and Madea. He then picked up ageing Rando for next to nothing.  Promoted a nice young prospect and picked up some bargins in the R-5 draft. Now Mark has a 12 million cushion to wheel and deal for a juisy SS prospect.

IN: Rick Bradford F/A (Turkeys), Ben Davis Promoted, Vincenzo Piper Promoted, Shea Powell Promoted, Theodore Pittinger Promoted

SUMMARY: Its not an apperation its the Ectoplasm with the 5th seed in the playoffs. I know i sound like a broken record but i'll say it again. This team would have a half dozen Division tropheys if they played in another division. So Snowedin continues to field one of the best teams in Wrigleyville and hopes for a little luck in the playoffs. He raised his cap to 110 million and let several players go to the Market . Some wanted to much money others were getting long in the tooth. But its allright ,Snowedin has a bunch of youngsters to replace them . He did sign 1 free agent to a 1 year 4.4 million contract.I'm sure Snowedin is hoping that his 107 million in salaries wins him the Big one.

He signed big time free agent pitcher Sean "Feather"Pellow and promoted pitcher Vin"number"Brooks. Its also been reported that to pay the higher salaries .Hoopscoach has been promoting "Breaking Wind Wednesdays" at Lawrence-Dumont stadium. I then grabbed a R-5 SS with fine defensive ratings and will hit Lefties nicely. I will have to sit him against Righties.

IN: Walt Hill F/A(Justice), Eric Durham Promoted

SUMMARY: Last year was the 4th straight year that Hartford finished atop the A L East. And again ARomanos guys faltered in the playoffs. ARomano first allowed Type A Vic "tim" Sellars go to Free agency and picked up the 27th and 45th pick as compensation. he also got a comp pick for John "Lemon" Abe. The Crushers then brought in a veteren closer in Walt "Over the" Hill and promoted a young Set-up/Closer.

OUT: Eric Ryan F/A (Moonbats), Ernest Maxwell F/A (Manatees)

IN: Tony Matos Trade (Aztecs), Henry Wells Trade (Moonbats), David Fuentes Trade (Moonbats)

SUMMARY: Last season Jamaicanheat bailed on this Club after spending 30 million in free Agency. Avantrael was gracious in taking over this team . Even with the turmoil this team had there best finish in 4 years. So with some ownership stability this club could start winning. That said, Avantrael let a couple of Old farts go to Free agency. Then brought in some good players in trades with Chicago and Helena.

IN: Rene Jensen F/A(Moonbats), B.C. McMillan F/A(Justice), Eddie Locke R-5, Dean Fitzgerald R-5, Napoleon Ledee Trade (Stars)

SUMMARY: Remember in Season 8 when the Howlers played in the Series. Yea, after the last two years of sub .500 baseball, I forgot about it also . I'm sure Jmuhtoff would give his left testical just to make the playoffs  .LOL !! But thankfully no one in Wrigleyville is willing to trade for Testicals. So he increased his payroll 8 million and let several old players go thru free agency and released a couple of others. Then he traded some Youngsters to the Stars for a slugging CF'er that wants 6 million. He then went a shopping and picked up two Bullpen arms for 6 million apiece.Jmuhtoff then plugged the holes with a couple of R-5 pitchers.

SUMMARY: The Injuns took a step back last season which was a suprise. After last seasons signing of "The Donut" ardthomp and myself both thought this club could win 81 games . Boy was we wrong! With the taint finally washed out of Ardthomps shorts he released several underpreformers and allowed Pulido to go to F/Agency . He then signed one of my pitching castoofs to a resonable contract and brought up Campos and Forrester to the Bigs. Then in flurry of trades he brought in some decent talent and finished with a nice R-5 pick-up.
