A.L. West Down to Lone Representative

Dominating the regular season with the three best records in the league, the A.L. West came into the playoffs with lofty expectations. But after Salem’s play-in defeat to MVP Ollie Greenwood’s Redtails, and Helena’s heartbreaking game 5 loss to Los Bruins de un idiota bocaza, all the hopes of the A.L. West lie on Arizona’s shoulders.

Helena owner, Sordie, was last seen viciously kicking random puppies while unleashing a seemingly endless torrent of obscenities.  Never gracious in defeat, the long-term Moonbats owner expressed displeasure at the early exit, “Dodgersgale can go f*** himself. Guerra can go f*** himself. I hope Blanco’s f****** arm falls off.”

It’s going to be a long, hard winter in Helena.  But, apparently, there will be nothing long and hard in dodgergale’s breakfast bowl.  At least until he gets Cobra-bit, that is.

Miguel Blanco saved dodgersgale from a most unpleasant meal.

The Voting Booth: Today's Poll

Dodgersgale's supreme confidence in his team's abilities, especially those of solid batsman but inept fielder Aroldis Guerra (an early favorite to finish second in MVP voting behind the versatile Ollie Greenwood), has him spurting out wild proclamations of self-love in every conceivable direction.  But is this the year the Bruins can actually win their first playoff series in team history after an extended string of failure, or are Dodgey's words as empty as that spot in his brain that would normally house "humility"?

Ashton Kutcher wants to know.

Vote below:

What will dodgersgale be eating after the playoff series with Helena?

Ashton Kutcher is working on toning down his arrogance
to about a -1 from it's current setting of dodgersgale

On the Outside Looking In

There’s no crying in baseball.

Unless you live in Austin.  Then there’s at least sixteen reasons to cry.  That’s the number of seasons since the City Limits last playoff appearance.

The promise of the post-season hung over Austin like a large, happy hanging thing throughout the entirety of the season.  The squad looked good, playing the best ball of its history, even leading its division for stretches.  But when the games were all played and the dust cleared, the City Limits had crashed down to earth with a resounding thud and finished just short.

92 wins.  That blew Austin’s previous season-high win total of 84 wins out of the water.  But it also happened in a year when it took 93 wins to earn a wild card berth.  Tantalizingly close, but just out of reach.

Sorry, wylie, there’s always next year!

SEASON 23 DUROCHER AWARD NOMINEES

Thanks to all who sent in their nominations. Without your parciptation, this Blog would not be possible. Vote to the left ,atop the sidebar. Thanks for a great season ,Good luck to all the playoff teams.-Madmuldoon

OLEMISS33- It's been a long time since this team has been the division winner. In the Inaugural season, this team won the division as the Atlanta Beavers. And only made the post-season as a wildcard twice since.  Olemiss took over this team in disrepair 8 seasons ago and now they are one of the best teams in Wrigleyville. This is what one owner had to say while nominating Olemiss. ----- "I'm nominating olemiss for the Durocher. He has brought a team that won 49 (I repeat 49!!!!!) games just 7 seasons ago in a team that will win over 100 wins this season. I'm not a math teacher or anything (well actually I am) but that's like double the amount of wins! He's done done it the hard way too, hopping on planes to travel all over the world to find the hidden international gems and offered them plenty of American greenbacks, women and booze. Nice job olemiss."

SWISHNEV23-  If this was just about wins, Swish would be a worthy nominee for the Durocher. He won the tough A L West and will be the top seed in the American League. He also stepped up and helped out on our Blog by posting a weekly "Power Rankings". This is what one nominating owner had to say about Swish---------"I would like to nominate swish. He has consistently fielded a solid team, and with his extra work on the blog he deserves a nod this season."

EHULL11-  Another year and looky, looky who sits among the top of the best. Ehull will be going for the 3-peat and has a really good shot at the title. It's amazing how Ehull wins near 100 games every year, Mr Consistancy. This is what a nominating owner had to say.--------"My nomination for the Durocher for this season is ehull11.His accomplishments just can not be ignored. He has not only achieved excellence, he has maintained it. And he built his team the right way -- no tanking, no 'extended' rebuilds, no missteps -- just loads of W's, baby."

SORDIE-  It always amazes me how the Barking Moonbats have never had a losing season ...EVER! And while they haven't won a division in awhile, due to playing in the toughest division. Sordie still has made the playoffs more times than not. One owner had this comment about Sordie.----------" I nominate Sordie , He is one crazy dude!! Crazy good."

THE WEEK IN WRIGLEYVILLE S-23 #8

TRADES

The SYRACUSE MOOSE trade Michel Diaz to the AUSTIN CITY LIMITS for Lance Bailey
The Moose , City Limits and the Red Light Districts in a 3 way battle for the two wild card berths. Austin picks up some extra offense and Syracuse gets a decent pitching prospect that could be called up if needed. Both teams helping each other out and hoping when the music stops they are sitting in the wild-card chairs.

M L INJURIES

Juan Parra
After 17 Major League Seasons, Juan Parra "Pliers" lands on the DL. He will miss the rest of the season and may Retire if not signed in next years free agent market. Will some one take a chance and throw some WD-40 on his rusty hinges??

 Jorge Molina
Jorge "you" Molina will be out the rest of the year and maybe some of next year after he herniated a disk. The Pirates are pointing fingers at this years poor showing. Hey You...Ya You Molina.

Aurelio Rosa
Back in season 17 Aurelio "Nipple" Molina had just a little nick on the Nip. Now he could miss the start of next year with Elbow Surgery. That really Sucks Nipple!

Jamie Bradley
Maybe it's the sophmore jinx for Jamie "Gotta Gun" Bradley. He will be out 2 weeks with a strained back. Keep the firearms away from Hshack after another disappointing season.

Junior Okajima
Just 2 weeks on the DL for Junior "Mint" Okajima. Junior Mint has been a bit of fresh air to Louisvilles season, so they want to get him back for the playoffs.

Peter Griffin
Peter Griffin "Door" sprained his shoulder and will miss the rest of the season. Jmuhtoffs Redtails are limping into the playoffs. Damn Slytherin!!
