THE WEEK IN WRIGLEYVILLE S-23 #6

TRADES

The CHARLOTTE SOMETIMES traded Clarence Aubrey to the JACKSONVILLE JUGGERNAUTS for Coco West and Gerry Abbott
This trade involves two teams going in different directions. The Sometimes are looking to the post-season and picked up a good Catcher that has some hitting skills . Hatton also picked up a very good defensive LF'er with power to knock in 30-40 homers a year. The Juggernauts are looking to next year and beyond. Wishlist added a young player who was the 10th overall pick in S-22's draft. If he reaches his projections he will be an upgrade in LF. Good trade for both teams.

The SALT LAKE CITY UTES traded Art Desmond and Lonny Black to the BOSTON KNIGHTS for Willie Alonso and 2,000,000
Same as above, one team headed to the post-season the other trying to improve for tomorrow. The Utes are adding to their arsenal, with the pick-up of a bat, with a OPS of .900. Avantraels Knights get a couple 20 something pitchers with potential. Trade made sense for Hoopcoach, he gave up a couple of pitchers that never would have broken into his M L lineup. And Avantrael shed future salary and maybe one of the pitchers he acquired will pan out.

The CINCINATTI RED LIGHT DISTRICTS traded Howard Allen to the SCOTTSDALE SCHIZOIDS for Mike Karnuth
I Needed Pitching and Jeff nedded some extra power for the playoffs. The RLD's get Mike "Motor" Karnuth, who I signed in free agency this season and has been a offensive force, hitting cleanup for the Zoids. I picked up a very nice bullpen guy who will set-up my closer nicely. Both are teams are going in opposite direstions......get the theme here??

The SCOTTSDALE SCHIZOIDS traded Jesus Castillo to the JACKSONVILLE JUGGERNAUTS for Edinson Trinidad and 1,900,000
I traded my one good prospect in my farm system for some pitching. Jacksonville gets a a nice prospect with defensive skills for the future. I get a solid pitcher with 88 wins and a lifetime 1.37 WHIP. Heres crossing my fingers!!

The TRENTON TOYOTAS traded Torey Acosta and Lawrence Taylor and 4,000,000 to the SALEM SALMONBELLIES for Ben Hoffman , James Franco and Daniel Ray Flaherty
It's a 3-way dogfight for the AL West and the Salmonbellies picked up some players to get them over the top. Acosta has a .887 OPS and has hit 242 homeruns in his ML career, and will help score more runs for Salem. Taylor is a horse who can pitch 200 innings plus and will start out in the Salmonbellies bullpen. The Toyotas picked up 2 nice catching prospects and a very nice pitching prospect. Future looks brighter for the Sandberg and Mdymond should be a force in the playoffs.

The LOUISVILLE REDTAILS traded Harry Ontiveros to the SALT LAKE CITY UTES for Houston Alexander
The Utes are on their way to a division championship and they bolstered the pen with the acqusition of Harry Ontiveros. Even if he turns into a dud, he will probably give Salt Lake a B pick in next years draft. Louisville picks up Alexander, a guy who was stuck in AAA purgetory and wanted another shot at the Bigs. He will also be a free agent next year and the Redtails are also looking to the post-season. One team felt they needed more offense the other pitching. Both got it.

The SYRACUSE MOOSE traded Justin Brantley , Pedro Olmedo and a 1,000,000  to the JACKSON BLACK BEARS for Michael Green
The Moose picked up a solid all-around prospect .Green was the 12th overall pick in the season 20 draft. Rugby is in a 3-way fight for the N L East and this youngster may get the phonecall at roster expansion time. The Black Bears pick up Brantley who was having a down year in Syracuse. Can he play like a #4 overall pick? Jackson may be just the place for him.As a kicker, Olemiss picked up Olmedo who will be a defensive stud in 2-3 years. The Moose gave up alot for Green, but it was a fair trade for both .
